How to Use Collections in MapQuest

Collections allow you to organize and save your favorite points of interest—such as restaurants, parks, venues, and businesses—so you can quickly access them whenever you plan a trip.

Note: Collections are designed for Points of Interest (POIs) and business locations. Specific numerical street addresses cannot be saved into a collection (to save individual street addresses, use My Places instead).

1. Sign In to Your MapQuest Account

To create or save locations to a collection, you must be logged into a MapQuest account. If you try to save a collection while signed out, the app will automatically prompt you to log in or create an account before proceeding.

2. How to Save a Location to a Collection

1. Search for a Point of Interest: Search for any business, landmark, or venue (e.g., Coors Field).

2. Tap the Save Button: On the location detail card, tap the ♡ Save button (grey heart).

3. Select Your Collection:

   • Choose an existing collection from the Collections section.

   • Tap Save at the bottom.

4. Confirmation: Once saved, the grey heart icon will turn red (❤️), indicating the location has been added to your collection.

3. How to Create a New Collection

You can create new collections at any time directly from the home screen or while saving a location:

From the "Let's explore!" Home Screen:

1. Scroll to the Collections section on the main screen.

2. Tap View all (green arrow) to open your collections list.

3. Tap the green plus icon (+) to create a new collection.

4. Enter a Name and optional Description for your collection, then tap Save.

While Saving a Place:

1. Tap the ♡ Save button on any place detail card.

2. Under the Collections header, tap the green plus icon (+).

3. Name your new collection and tap Save. Select your newly created collection to add the place immediately.
