How do I use MapQuest on Carplay?

1. Make sure your phone is running iOS 12 or later.
2. Install the latest version of MapQuest from the App Store (6.0.23 or later)
3. Connect your iPhone to CarPlay.
   Problems connecting? Follow these instructions.
4. You will see the MapQuest app icon appear along with your other apps on your car’s dash. 
   Want to change the icon position? Follow these instructions.
5. Click the icon to launch MapQuest CarPlay.

Important: to use MapQuest for CarPlay you need to allow MapQuest to access your location. If you have not enable location access, please go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, select MapQuest and choose “While Using the App”.

How do I move the map in CarPlay?

With MapQuest open in CarPlay, tap the screen then tap the <insert icon here> button in the bottom corner to show panning and zooming controls.
When you are done moving the map, press Done in the top right-hand corner to return to the original map area.

1. How do I preview a route in CarPlay?
   Two ways:
   1. Use your iPhone to create a route as normal. 
      CarPlay will automatically reflect any route you create on your phone. If you wish to navigate your route, make sure to leave the starting point as  “current location”.
   2. Create the route to a recent or favorite place on CarPlay. 
      • Tap the screen to reveal the top bar.
      • Choose to see recent places you’ve used in the app, or choose to see your favorite places.
      • Click on the place you want to route to. You will be taken to the route preview screen.  

Notes: if the location you want is not in the recents or favorites list, please use your phone to find the location and click to save it as a favorite. It will then appear in your favorites list on CarPlay. You can also create the route directly on your phone and the preview will appear in CarPlay automatically.

How do I navigate in CarPlay?

Two ways:

1. Use your iPhone to create your route as normal. Make sure to leave the starting point of your route as “current location”. Click “start” to begin navigation.
2. Create a route to a recent or favorite place on CarPlay.
   1. Tap the screen to reveal the top bar.
   2. Choose to see recent places you’ve used in the app, or choose to see your favorite places.
   3. Click on the place you want to route to. You will be taken to the route preview screen.
   4. Click “Go” to begin navigation.

How do I stop navigation?

Two ways:

1. Tap the CarPlay screen to reveal the top bar, then click “Stop”
2. On your phone, click the “X” at the top right-hand corner of the screen, and choose “Exit Navigation”
