The only way to securely save locations (My Places), and collections, on MapQuest.com is to log in to your MapQuest account each time you come to our website.
You don't need to log in to use the basic features of MapQuest, but you will need to log in to save My Places and Collection features.
If you don't log in you won't be able to save locations or collections you create and any recent searches or preferences you set may disappear if your Internet browser's temporary files are cleared, if private browsing is enabled, or if you switch Internet browsers/computers. It doesn't take long to make an account or log in and it's totally worth it!
To create a free MapQuest account:
- Visit www.mapquest.com and click the menu button (three horizontal lines), located in the upper left-hand corner of the page.
- Click Log In or Sign up.
- Enter a valid email address or phone number. (We will be sending you a one-time code each time you log in)
- Check your email or text messages for a message from us - you'll need to enter the one-time code to log in.
