Correcting incorrect data request

If all you're concerned with is updating incorrect business information, we're here to help with that!

When filling out your request, please include as much of the following information as you can so that your request may be processed most efficiently:

  • Business Name, Address, and Phone Number as they currently appear on MapQuest (If possible, please include a URL link to the MapQuest Listing page.)
  • What is the main cause for your contacting us?  If the business description, hours, etc. are displayed incorrectly, please let us know with as much detail as possible what the error is so that our Business Support team can best assist you.
  • Correct Business Name
  • Correct Business Address
  • Correct Business Phone Number
  • Correct Business Website URL
  • Correct Business (SIC) Categories (Click here to see a directory of SIC codes, or feel free to give us a brief description of your business and we can determine the most relevant SIC codes to associate with your listing.)
  • Latitude and Longitude coordinates reflecting the location of your building.

Keep in mind, though, that MapQuest is probably one of many places on the web that displays information about your business. A premium listings package from our partner, Yext, is one of the easiest and most thorough ways for you to gain complete control of your business' presence online, as Yext can send your preferred business info to a number of select partners, including Yahoo, Yelp, Foursquare, Bing, and more.

The address is correct, but the location is wrong

If the data we display on your business-listing page looks accurate, but the map marker is not properly placed on the map, please click here to send us a ticket so that our Business Support team can ensure that your listing is as accurate as possible.

When filling out your request, please include as much of the following information as you can so that your request may be processed most efficiently:

  • Business Name as it currently appears on MapQuest.
  • Address as it currently appears on MapQuest.
  • Phone Number as it currently appears on MapQuest.
  • If possible, please include a URL link to the MapQuest Listing page.

Claim with Yext to manage updates yourself

Even if your listing already appears on MapQuest, there are a number of benefits that our premium listings partner, Yext, can offer to both ensure accuracy and enhance your online presence.

Some of the tools and features that you'll be able to take advantage of as a Yext subscriber include:

  • Manage and update your own listing at any time (Yext listing updates are generally reflected on MapQuest within a few hours!)

  • Sync your Yext content to your business' Facebook page
  • Add enhanced content to your listing, such as:

At this time, the only way to add enhanced content, like photos, descriptions, menus, hours of operation, etc., to your listing is to upgrade to a Premium Listings Package through our partner, Yext. Click here to learn more and get started!

Report a closed business

If you see a business listed on MapQuest that has closed, please click here to send us a ticket so that our Business Support team can ensure that our listings are as up to date as possible.

When filling out your request, please include as much of the following information as you can so that your request may be processed most efficiently:

  • Business Name, Address, and Phone Number as they currently appear on MapQuest.
  • If possible, please include a URL link to the MapQuest Listing page.

Once our Business Support team has this information, they will verify that the location has closed and update our data accordingly.

There are duplicates of my Business Listing

If you notice upon searching for your business that the search results contain multiple listings for the same business (at the same location), our Business Support team can merge these listings together to alleviate any confusion for potential customers.

MapQuest Local Business Center

On January 31, 2014, the MapQuest Local Business Center shut down. After January 31st, users will no longer be able to log in to their LBC account to manage listings created or claimed with the now-retired LBC tool.

A letter went out in January letting our Local Business Center (LBC) users know that we were shutting down our Local Business Center. At that time, we informed all LBC users that if they wished to continue managing their listings, they would need to upgrade to a Premium Listings Package through our partner, Yext. For those users who did not wish to upgrade, we indicated that changes and updates made with the LBC tool would continue to be processed until January 31st, 2014. After that date, the listing would remain on MapQuest but changes could no longer be processed. At this point, we are not able to make any changes to existing listings created or claimed with our now-retired free business center tool.

We are still exploring options for editing listings created or claimed with the LBC tool, but are currently unable to do so with the recent shutdown. If you need to update a listing created or claimed with the LBC tool, you can either look into a Yext premium listings package, which will be able to override the current/outdated listing, or you may always contact us using the instructions above for updating a Business Listing.
