Using the Avoid Tolls feature

MapQuest uses a sophisticated routing algorithm to determine driving directions that generally delivers the best overall route. But sometimes--for various reasons--MapQuest users may want to choose a different route.

For those occasions, MapQuest provides advanced routing options allowing users to choose between shortest time(the default)and shortest distance. Additionally users can opt to avoid highways and/or avoid toll roads.



To use the Avoid Tolls feature:

1. Enter the desired Starting Location and Ending Location information
2. Click the link labeled Advanced Options beneath the Ending Location section of the form.
3. Check the box labeled Avoid Tolls.
4. Click the Get Directions button.
